地名[edit]
村南有一段赤色的悬崖峭壁，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
闽东游击第二支队曾在村中组建。博雅地名网称，此村是霞浦最早掀起武装暴动的革命老区村。[2]
1958年8月公社化时期，此地设为赤壁生产大队。1984年8月恢复乡政府，大队随即改称赤壁村并组成村民委员会，原大队就此撤销。[1]
概况[edit]
村民共3321人，分属820户，下辖18个村民小组。耕地1379亩，林地8600亩，沿海滩涂养殖820亩。[1][2]
村中以海带、大黄鱼、鲍鱼、石斑鱼等海产养殖为主，芹菜苗和棕包梨是村中的特产。[2]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办于2021年11月将本村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
