厚首村是福建省宁德市霞浦县沙江镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东南部，离镇区约10公里；东边隔海与竹江岛遥望，南边是白鹭村，北边挨着水潮村。全村下辖1个南下自然村，共16个村民小组，博雅地名网载有总人口3983人。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地原名「埠首」，因村后有一座土山而得名，后因读音相近，演变为今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年8月，全国推行人民公社化，原农业社改为生产大队，当年于此立起厚首生产大队。[1]

1984年8月恢复乡级政权、政社分开，厚首生产大队改称厚首村，由村民选出村民委员会；此后生产大队撤销，改设厚首村民委员会。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

全村1135户，村中少数民族3户8人；行政面积约15820亩，耕地约3325亩；总人口则为3983人（博雅地名网）。[1][2]

村子地处丘陵地带，平均海拔300多米，982县道从村中穿过。[1][2]
