沙塘街村在霞浦县东南部，属松山街道南端，东面挨着东冲路。博雅地名网将其列为松山街道下辖村，此村在沙江镇的村庄名单中，由松山街道管理。全村下辖方厝城、下岐山两个自然村，共714户。[1][2][3]

据博雅地名网，村前有天然沙积成的堤岸，又有一条大街道，故名沙塘街。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年8月，全国推行人民公社化，原农业社改为生产大队，当年于此立起沙塘街生产大队。[1]

1984年8月恢复乡级政权、政社分开，沙塘街生产大队改称沙塘街村，由村民选出村民委员会；此后生产大队撤销，改设沙塘街村民委员会。[1]

人口与民族[edit]

村域耕地约1938亩，其中水田约960亩，主要种植水稻和蔬菜；林地约3629亩，以马尾松等生态公益林为主。[2]

海上可供养殖的滩涂面积3万多亩，主要养殖紫菜、海带和生蚝。[2]

交通[edit]

东冲路已全线通车，村内道路四通八达，拟建的228国道纵一线也将穿过村境。[2]
