东街头村在牙城镇东北部，离镇区16公里，下辖8个自然村。全村442户、1447人。村民主要靠茶叶种植和外出务工维持生计。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来，据博雅地名网，此地原为郑姓人家聚居，初称郑街头，后音近改为东街头。[2]

1958年设东街头生产大队，1984年改为东街头村，同时设立村民委员会。[2]

2022年12月，村获福建省绿化委员会授予「2022年福建省森林村庄」称号。[2]
