一层村在牙城镇东北部，离镇区约9公里，由五个自然村组成，其中包括上一层与下一层。常住人口340人，全村133户、486人。村中畲族占九成以上，村民以外出务工和茶叶种植为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来，据博雅地名网，因村子位于高山顶上，故名。[2]

1958年设一层生产大队，1984年改称一层村，并设立村民委员会。[2]
