村名的来历是村边高起的土坡上盛产竹子。[2]

据博雅地名网，村子的先民迁来于清初年间。[1]

1958年设立生产大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[2]

地理与资源[edit]

村域面积207.14公顷，属沿海丘陵地貌，平均海拔300米，森林覆盖率达80%。境内有外海湖沙滩，滩涂面积约500亩。[2]

村内资源含锰与硅灰石。[2]
