石后乡是福建省宁德市蕉城区下辖的一个乡，驻地在石厝村。1958年设石后人民公社，1984年10月撤销公社、改设石后乡，全乡辖14个行政村。境内多山丘，水稻、甘薯和茶叶是主要农作物，石壁岭古官道是其中的文物古迹。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

乡名取自石厝村与后垅村两村名的首字。这一带古时大部分属青田乡二十三都，小部分属二十二都和六都，解放初期归洋中乡管辖。[1][2]

公社时期的沿革依次为：1958年8月建公社，1961年8月改为区，1962年划归洋中区，1966年7月重新改为公社。1984年10月公社撤销，石后乡随之设立。[1][2][4]

地理环境[edit]

乡域属山丘地形，境内山峰二十余座，其中石磨冈山海拔935米，是全乡的最高点。[2]

七都溪与大金溪的分水岭经过石后境内，大泽溪是七都溪的中游河段，乡内溪流分别注入两条大河。气候属亚热带山地季风气候。[2][1]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻和甘薯为粮食作物，经济作物有茶叶，并产香菇、蘑菇等菌类，反季节蔬菜也有种植。[2]

乡内建有大泽溪水电站和大港水电站。[2]石材开采、养殖、运输与商贸展览等行业是乡民外出务工经商的主要方向。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

石壁岭古官道位于石壁岭一带，是宋代至民国时期遗留的山道，古时通往西乡及古田、屏南等地，开辟时间不晚于南宋。[3]

道路全长约3.5公里，清康熙四十五年（1706年）曾修为较平坦的道路。2018年9月，该古道被定为第九批福建省省级文物保护单位之一。[3]

芹后村的瑞林院和光荣村的安仁寺都是唐代建立的古寺，建寺的具体年份见各村条目。[5][6]

文化[edit]

2020年12月，福建省爱卫办确认石后乡为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[4]

2014年9月，环境保护部把「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予了石后乡。[4]
