地名由来[edit]
村西的山形似钟，故称钟山；村前有一小片平洋，合称钟洋。[1]
关于村名的来历，村中余氏族谱记载，北宋初年一位开基先祖经过此地时，见金钟飞入仙湖，众人以为此处山川回环、瑞气所钟，遂以此作为乡名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
明代村子属福宁府青田乡安远里二十二都，清代仍属青田乡安远里。1958年村里组建生产大队，1984年改设村民委员会。[2][1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中的钟洋祖厅始建于十三世纪，祖厅前有两个门楼，主殿原有三进，目前仅存后殿。[2]
村中央的六府公墓造型似官帽，由大圆石砌成，墓碑上刻有“宋戎大夫”等字样，墓主为村中第十七世祖。[2]
村西的长寿堂又称水尾堂，依溪岸而建，佛殿前石刻载有洪武二十八年（1395年）建造的字样，殿内供奉弥勒佛、观音等十四尊佛像。[2]
