天湖村属老区村，在洋中镇西部，距镇中心约14公里。村子四面环山，中间平坦，地形如湖，因而得名天湖，又名仙湖。村域西南与古田县接壤，北邻虎贝镇。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子四面环山，中间平坦，地形像一个湖泊，山高水深，故以“天湖”为名，又称仙湖。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子平均海拔900米以上，高山气候条件较好，村中已种植大片高山反季节蔬菜，被称为双反农业村。[2]

博雅地名网在介绍全镇时称，天湖村曾以「全省最早发展反季节蔬菜」见称。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年村里组建生产大队，1984年改设村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村子被评为市级“文明村镇”，村中以“耕读文化”为品牌，建有乡风文明馆。[2]
