嵋屿村位于洋中镇西北部，距镇中心约10公里，地处高山地带，平均海拔700米以上。村名出自一则关于画眉鸟的传说。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传詹姓始祖渊公字守静，来此狩猎时捕到一只画眉，便将它埋在这里。次年他重来察看，发现鸟仍栩栩如生，便认定此地风水奇佳，遂定居于此，取名“眉屿”，后演变为“嵋屿”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年村里组建生产大队，1984年改设村民委员会。村子与利洋村、钟洋村相连。[1]
