地名由来[edit]
村后的山形如莲花，村子坐落在山下，故取名莲下。村名早年也写作莲桥和兰桥。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年村里组建生产大队，1984年改设村民委员会。村委会驻莲下村3号。[1]
民俗[edit]
村中每年农历三月二十七日举行「青蛙节」，又称青蛤将节。相传这一习俗始于宋代雍熙二年（985年），当时周姓人家迁居此地。节日当天，村民把塑像抬出游行，夜间在殿内祭祀，并演闽剧三天三夜。[2]
