由知村是赤溪镇的行政村，位于镇区西北约1.8公里，尖峰顶山东南侧。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传古时村中有一位姓游的知县，村名因此而来，原称游知，后音衍为今名。[1]

1958年组建大队，1984年改为村民委员会。2020年9月22日起，原油知村更名为由知村，经区政府批准。[1]
