夏村村是赤溪镇的行政村，位于镇区西南约2.7公里，雁乐溪东侧，海拔约90米，为单一行政村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来由：古时夏日田园晒得龟裂，故名夏村。1958年组建大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[1]

2015年10月入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」，2016年12月列入「第四批中国传统村落」名录。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村分为19个村民小组，居民573户、2354人；常驻1760人，外来110人，现有及出过的大学文化者43人。村民以何姓为多。[2]

经济[edit]

林地4726亩，耕地1623亩。农作物主要有稻谷，以及应季与反季蔬菜、茶叶、甘蔗和草莓苗，林业有松树和杂木等。[2]

村中有商店26间（含生产资料店），年销售值约600万元。[2]

文化[edit]

村后山上有870亩原生林。沿山路而上，岩石嶙峋，有「棺材石」「仙人脚印」「龟山弯鬼洞」等景致，林中古木多达百余棵。[2]

村中有古建筑陈坪亭1座。[2]
