赤溪村是赤溪镇的行政村，村委会设在镇区，位于南屏峰北侧，据博雅地名网载距城区56公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名与镇名的由来相同，此前村名为安乐。1958年组建大队，1984年改为村民委员会。[1][2]
人口民族[edit]
村内共1067户，人口4162人，内含畲族20户、68人。外来人口2000多人，常驻人口5600多人。出过大学学历的人有206人，内有博士2人。[2]
经济[edit]
耕地2510亩，农作以稻谷、茶叶、蘑菇、果蔗为多。林地8665亩，其中有林地5724亩，林木多为松、杉与杂木。[2]
村中兼营运输商贸，日用商店和生产资料商店共157间，年销售值4000多万元。茶厂有11家，赤溪茶叶有限公司是其中一家，并在福建省农业产业化龙头企业之列。[2]
荣誉方面，村内有「2023年福建省卫生村」（2024年1月命名）、「第三批全国乡村治理示范村」（2023年11月认定）、「2019年中国美丽休闲乡村」（2019年11月，农业农村部推介）、「第四批中国传统村落」（2016年12月列入名录）等。[1]
文化[edit]
村内有赤溪大古宅，古祠堂5座，宫、大厅各2间，武圣庙1座，另有百年以上榕树数棵。[2]
据博雅地名网，赤溪素称武术之乡，并提到清末南拳（内文拳）创始人杨忠忱。[2]
