八斗村位于霍童镇西南部，在镇区西南约6.2公里处，是一个畲族行政村，畲族人口约占全村一半。[1]

村名的来历，一说是村中原有田八斗之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

八斗村是2000年才从大石村委会中析出的，村委会名称就此沿用至今。[1]

2017年3月，国家民委命名八斗村为「第二批中国少数民族特色村寨」；2019年12月，该村出现在国家林业和草原局发布的「第二批国家森林乡村」名单里。[1]

2022年10月，八斗村获评「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；同年12月，该厅确定其为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」（脐橙）。[1]

2025年3月，八斗村被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
