霍童镇位于福建省宁德市蕉城区西北部，距宁德市区47公里，霍童溪横贯全境。[2][3]

镇域内有道教洞天霍童山和佛教寺院支提寺，明清木板房街市霍童古镇、隋代修建的霍童涵洞等古迹也在这里。霍童溪自古是屏南、周宁两县木材和毛竹运输的要道。[2][3][6][12]

历史沿革[edit]

霍童一带商周时已有聚落，秦至唐末，中原文化不断传入，村落逐渐形成。北宋时县境划为三乡六里，霍童所在属霍山乡，管水漈与霍童两里。[4]

明朝时，今镇域分属十二、十三都，另有十一、十九都的一部分村落。民国年间先后称第二区、霍童镇。1949年底它是全县五个区里的第三区；1952年5月改称第七区，1955年10月又叫霍童区。[4]

1958年8月设为霍童人民公社；1961年8月重新设立霍童区，1966年7月取消区建制，改为霍童人民公社。1984年10月公社撤销，霍童镇随之设立。[4]

地名的来历，据传是周代的霍桐真人居于霍林洞，故称霍童。[2]

地理环境[edit]

霍童溪霍童段干流全长18公里，溪流沿柏步、外表、兴贤等村流经镇域。[3]

支提山是霍童山的主要部分，山上有千年古刹支提寺，在镇域内的支提山森林公园也属霍童镇。[3][10]

经济[edit]

霍童镇以茶、果、蔬为特色，是农业大镇，近年以文旅为主导产业，茶、果、蔬、林下种植和商贸等产业多元融合。[3]

传统名产有霍童剪刀，列在百度百科所载的特产一栏中。[1]

文化[edit]

霍童线狮列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产，霍童铁枝和霍童“二月二”灯会同为本镇的民俗。[8][5]

2003年1月，霍童镇经福建省人民政府认定，列入「第二批福建省历史文化名镇名村」。2010年7月，霍童镇入选「第五批中国历史文化名镇」，2012年12月环境保护部授予「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。2014年7月，霍童镇被住房城乡建设部等七部委确定为「全国重点镇」。[2]

2015年1月，霍童镇入选「第二批美丽宜居小镇示范」名单；2019年1月，凭借宁德霍童线狮入选「2018—2020年度中国民间文化艺术之乡」名单；2021年2月，霍童镇列入「2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2][1]

名胜古迹[edit]

支提山在镇西北，是省级风景名胜区。山中支提寺建于北宋开宝四年（971年）。国务院于1983年4月9日批准支提寺为全国佛教重点寺院。[9][10]

霍童古镇保留明清木板房店铺和老宅，被列为国家3A级旅游景区。[6][7]

霍童涵洞在石桥村，始建于隋皇泰元年（618年），由龙腰水渠和蝙蝠隧洞组成，为福建省文物保护单位。[12]

桃花溪革命旧址在桃花溪村，年代为1934年至1937年，包括中国工农红军闽东独立师师部旧址，以及叶飞、阮英平等人的旧居，为福建省文物保护单位。同年9月底，闽东红军独立第二团、第十三团与独立营会合于支提寺一带，组建中国工农红军闽东独立师。[11]
