历史沿革[edit]
村名旧作“漈头”，村下有一道小瀑布，方言称瀑布为“漈”[1]。土地改革时期设村，1958年组建大队，1984年转为村委会[1]。
地理与人口[edit]
村辖8个自然村，依次为岩头螺、龙要、到木洋、三斗垅、慈福、竹平岗、青岗和漈头。全村分为8个村民小组，746人，169户；本村籍大学文化以上3人。海拔128米[1][2]。

民族与风俗[edit]
村中以兰、雷两姓为多，约450多年前从罗源竹里迁入建村。耕地1008亩与林地7235亩之外，另有茶园520亩[2]。
村中保存着祖图、祖杖、龙伞、香亭、花轿等民间古物，婚嫁穿民族服，并保留织布、织腰带等传统工艺。每年“三月三”，村中办盘歌会和采茶歌会[2]。
古迹与人物[edit]
村中有400多年的寺庙一座，另有约450多年的榕树一棵，被评为省级古榕[2]。村中出过雷应清，曾任第十届全国政协委员[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，际头村获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
