淡坪村位于七都镇西南部，距镇区约7.2公里，因山上有一平坦的坪地而得名[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子约建于200多年前。1958年组建大队，1984年改为村委会[2]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子南面与金涵的院后村相接，西面与石后乡的林下洋村相邻，博雅地名网载海拔640米[2]。

村辖10个自然村，依次为莲花心、上四斗、湖坪、冈头、桥仔头、下洋坪、洋头、上贝头、岭头隘和淡坪。全村设14个村民小组，人口831人，其中畲族42人，分住232户，畲族共11户。大部分人口已外迁[2]。

经济与文化[edit]

村民以农为主，产甘薯、稻谷和茶叶。经济收入以手工编织箩筐为主，旧时还有种菁制染料的工艺[2]。耕地528亩，林地3865亩[2]。
