历史沿革[edit]
此村原来叫水上村委会。1958年组建生产大队，1984年改称水上村委会，1994年才改名为横屿村委会。[1]
人口与村落[edit]
村辖横屿一个自然村，设4个村民小组，共151户、671人，其中常驻人口625人，另有外来人口98人。村民多姓郑、卞、林、连、江。[1]
经济[edit]
村民主要靠小海捕捞谋生，养殖为辅，产品以牡蛎、紫菜和海带为主。[1]
横屿之战[edit]
横屿岛是明代戚继光抗倭的古战场，村内保留有部分遗址，并立有一座纪念碑。明嘉靖四十一年（1562年）的横屿之战即在此岛进行。[1][3]
风俗[edit]
渔家的风俗保留得比较完整，例如方言、民歌小曲、哭丧歌与哭嫁歌等。[1]
