桥头下社区位于蕉南街道，因旧时宁德城关南门外的战桥头而得名，村落位于桥下。[1]

社区东接宁川路，西靠104国道，南邻小场宫路，北面与中南社区相交。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地是宁德城关南门外的四个村之一（“南门四村”）；1958年成为生产大队，1991年改为村委会。[1]

2003年6月，它改为务本社区下的桥头下居委会；2006年4月30日务本社区撤销，此处独立为桥头下社区。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内的战桥头古桥始建于明万历二十年（1592年），至今有四百多年历史。社区内另有奶娘宫与古井。[1][2]
