南际花园社区位于蕉南街道西北部，地处南际山脚下，故以“南际”为名。[1]

2024年1月，社区获「2023年福建省卫生社区」称号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区原为南山洋、上芦坪洋一带的农地、水田与林地，上世纪八十年代以来居民陆续建房，2000年组建南际花园小区。[1][2]

两处记载的设立时间不一：一处称2001年12月7日此地设立南漈社区居民委员会，另一处称2003年改设南际社区居委会。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区东侧是鹤峰路，西侧连接南际山，南面为闽东西路。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区名称来自区域内的南漈山风景区，即城市中心公园南漈山。[1]

南漈山又称南际山，最早开发于宋代，山上以飞泉寺、龙湫寺与南峰寺为中心，另有“人”字瀑布与龙湫桥。[3]
