鹏程社区位于蕉南街道北部，辖区北至八一五中路，南至南环路。因辖地古称“鹏程境”而得名。[1]

这一社区的前身是2003年设立的海鹏社区居委会。2006年，海鹏一分为二，形成海滨与鹏程两个社区，鹏程的居民委员会于当年4月底成立。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初此地名为长璋街人民政府与中南街。20世纪70年代的红星一带居委会，于1984年8月更名为鹏程居民委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内的绣花楼位于中南路马厝里14号，始建于明代万历年间，为楼阁式木构建筑，据维基百科所载，原为明代官员马臣书的住宅。1992年12月，它被列入第二批县级文保名单。[2][3]

著名人物[edit]

博雅地名网在社区的人文资源一栏提到郑长璋，他是革命烈士，生卒年标注为1901年至1927年；另有太极拳运动员周斌。[1][2]
