前洋坪村位于西园镇境内，村子最早在一个叫「大墘」的地方聚居，那里土地富庶，后迁至现址。[1]

地名由来[edit]

旧聚居点在「大墘」，原名「仑仔坪」，因地势富庶、钱粮充足，又称「粮前坪」。迁到现址后，名称因谐音演变为今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清时代及民国初期，这里属居仁里，称前洋坪乡。[1][2]

1961年析立前洋坪大队，归西园公社管辖；1980年又重新设立前洋坪大队。1984年村子改称前洋坪村，隶属西园乡。撤乡建镇发生在2013年9月30日，此后村子仍在西园镇内。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予前洋坪村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

「平安村居（社区）」的2022年度龙岩市称号，于2023年1月授予村子。[1]
