进庄村位于西园镇西部，地处九龙江北溪沿岸，距镇政府驻地约7千米。村名早先叫「郑庄坂」，后因读音相近演变为今名。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

明、清时代建村。据传此地早年为郑姓居住，村子靠近卓宅溪注入九龙江的交汇处，岸边俗称「溪坂」，因此取名「郑庄坂」。此后因读音相近，演变为「进庄坂」，简称今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1934年，村子属第一区的一个联保；1940年起隶登泰乡，1943年并入党泰乡。1949年初，此地属党泰乡的进秀村。[1]

1950至1952年后，此地为党泰区下的进庄乡；1958年设进庄大队，先后隶属党泰、城郊、西园等公社。[1]

1984年，村属西园乡，改称进庄村。西园撤乡建镇之后，村子于2013年9月30日起归西园镇辖。[1]

行政与自然环境[edit]

盐场洲是村内的一个自然村。村子所在是丘陵地带，临近九龙江北溪一侧，气候类型为亚热带季风。百度百科还记有村子在1984年改制为行政村。[2]
