香寮村位于赤水镇西北部，靠近天台山脚下，西南与新罗区交界，北与永安市接壤，距漳平市区65公里。村里有近百个姓氏，是明朝航海家王景弘的故里，2013年入选第二批中国传统村落。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村子明清时期建成，原名「香山」。最早来此开基的曹氏先祖曹四公出生时，当地香雾笼山三日，村名由此而来。[1]

1934年，村地归宁洋县第一区赤员香联保，其后为赤员乡、赤水乡的香寮保。1949年后仍属宁洋县第一区，之后改设香寮乡。1956年宁洋县撤销，村地划归漳平县，列入双洋区香寮乡。1957年撤区并乡，1958年设香寮大队，1961年划入赤水公社。1984年政社分开，村名改称赤水乡香寮村；1995年赤水撤乡建镇，村仍隶属之。[1]

荣誉方面，村庄于2025年3月获「第七届全国文明村镇」称号，2021年9月入选「第二批全国乡村治理示范村」。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。2017年3月，国家民委命名香寮村为「第二批中国少数民族特色村寨」。2011年，村庄由住建部与国家旅游局共同评定为「全国特色景观旅游名村」。[1]
