历史沿革[edit]
村内多栗树，早先称“高栗坂”，又因地处“洋尾”，后经谐音雅化为今名杨美。[1]
明、清时代及民国初年村地属感化里，1934年称杨美保，隶溪南（第三）区象湖联保、象南乡，后归溪南镇。建国初称杨美村，土改后为杨美乡，后并归象湖乡；1958年称杨美大队，属溪南公社；1961年划归象湖公社；1984年改称杨美村，属象湖乡；1995年3月撤乡建镇后仍属象湖镇。[2]
红色旧址与文物[edit]
1929年8月20日，朱德率领的红四军途经杨美，村民因不了解红军而躲避，红军在荣福堂左侧的辅厝取米二十六斤，留下大洋二元，并托人转交物主，又在墙上以毛笔写下留言，今称杨美红军留言墙。[3]
荣福堂为清代土木结构民居，2018年9月列入福建省第九批省级文物保护单位。旧址群内还有「朱德率红四军出击闽中纪念馆」（荣福堂）和「红四军前敌委员会旧址」（达道堂），旧址群为国家3A级旅游景区。[3][4]
荣誉[edit]
2017年8月，村子列入福建省第二批省级传统村落名录；2020年12月，入选2019年度福建省「一村一品」示范村（香菇）；2021年11月，被命名为2021年福建省卫生村；2023年2月，入选福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村；2026年1月，杨美村入选「福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
