和平村是和平镇的集镇所在地，位于漳平市北侧，距市区5公里。省道福三线与永漳线贯穿村域，双永、漳永两条高速公路与鹰厦铁路都在村旁经过。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄建于明清时期。相传古时罗氏居于此地，地势平坦如锣，俗称「罗坪」，后演变为「和坪」，雅化为今名。[1]

本村最初在1934年称和平保，隶第一区和平联保与平春乡，后并入菁城镇。1949年初归菁城镇管辖时已称和平村；1958年为和平大队，隶红专、城郊公社。1961年随和平公社设立，1984年复置乡时定为现名。1995年建镇，村随之归和平镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
