元沙村位于永福镇西南部，离镇驻地约10千米，村址在元沙溪畔的溪涧宽谷一带[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
村落处元沙溪畔，故以溪名村，一度写作“元纱”[1]。
1934年属适元保，最初隶第二区龙车联保，此后归龙车乡；1943年并入永福镇。土改后归第三区适元乡，后划入山坪乡，1957年又并回适元乡。1958年隶永福公社山坪大队；1961年分出元沙大队，归适元公社管辖，1964年复归永福公社；1984年改为元沙村，隶永福乡，1987年永福设镇后仍属其[1]。
文化[edit]
山坪曾建立苏维埃政府，为革命基点村；村中建有革命烈士纪念亭一座，亭中有墓[2]。
经济[edit]
村中设有供销店和个体商店，形成小交易点[2]。
