村名的来历与开垦有关：水利兴修之前，这里多为旱田，先民在此开畬，种植旱地作物。村内下辖两个自然村，距双洋镇政府约九公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

水利设施未建之前，此地大多是旱地，先民就在这里开垦畬田，村因此得名。1934年，此地是中南城联保内的畬坑保，隶宁洋县。1949年后仍归宁洋县第一区管辖。[1]

1956年宁洋县撤销，村划归漳平县双洋区。1958年起属东风公社，设百种畬大队；1961年改隶双洋公社；1984年复为村，称百种畬村；1989年随双洋乡改镇，称双洋镇百种畬村。[1]
