秀溪村位于新桥镇西北部，距集镇约7千米，海拔450米，村境内有京口溪流过。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名先称「小溪」，因京口溪穿过村境；此后景色秀丽，遂雅化为「秀溪」。[1]

1934年属第四区（新桥）的一个联保，之后并入新桥镇；1949年初归新桥镇管辖。1950年至1952年划入新桥区西埔乡，随后设立秀溪乡。1958年改称秀溪大队，划入新桥公社；1984年村制恢复，称秀溪村，隶新桥镇。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村内有3个自然村、7个村民小组。林地面积较大，村民以种植茶叶、毛竹和外出务工为主要生计。[1]

文化[edit]

2017年8月，村列入「福建省第二批省级传统村落」名录。2023年1月，村被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
