下桂林社区是桂林街道的城市社区，坐落在九龙江上游河边，处于漳平市城区东南方向。东面隔河与芦芝镇相望，北与上桂林社区交界。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此地沿岸多榉树，地名榉林，与上段的坂尾相对。明代改称桂林，此地属于桂林下段，故有下桂林之名。[1]

1995年3月桂林撤乡设街道办事处，本社区仍属之；同年4月村委会撤销，改为居委会。[1]

文化[edit]

社区活动中心内设图书阅览室、棋牌室、台球和乒乓球等场所，并设有为老年人服务的居家养老中心。[1][2]
