班竹村位于文亨镇，属镇乡结合区。据传七百多年前，文陂的一部分村民迁来此地，因这里长着很多斑竹，故称斑竹，后来逐渐写作班竹。[1]

2017年，班竹村创建了全省首家扶贫再贷款试点村，此后这一做法推广到龙岗村和文陂村。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

班竹所在的这片地方，早年先归文陂乡管辖，此后又在文亨公社里划为文陂大队的一部分。1971年才分队设为班竹大队，村名由此确定。[1]

1984年班竹归入文亨乡，设立班竹村委会。2010年撤乡设镇后，班竹改属文亨镇，村委会沿用原名。[1][2]

村委驻地在班竹自然村，全村共有班竹、班竹洋、山沙墩、牛角岭四个自然村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，班竹村被命名为「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
