水北村位于中心溪北岸，与庙前村隔溪相望，离镇政府约1千米。村里的水泥、矿业等企业位于庙前工业集中区的重点建设地带。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名由来：此地在中心溪的北面，因而得名水北。[1]

宋代属表正里权坊，明清属表席里。民国时隶属崇溪乡的朗北保，保内的自然聚落有崩山下、禾塘、坪头、阙坑坝、黄屋岭、仙坪、海坑等。新中国成立后归新泉区庙前乡，其中坪头、禾塘、崩山下三处改属芷溪乡。[1]

1958年设新泉公社水北大队，1972年改属庙前公社。1984年建制后，它为庙前镇水北村委会，驻地在水北自然村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

水北村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；同年12月，它获得「2021年度福建省森林村庄」称号。2025年3月，水北村被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
