名称与历史[edit]
早年有吴姓人家在此开基，地属条长坑，村名因此而来。[1]
宋代归河源下里，明清归河源里，民国时隶属墩联保，1949年初划入朋口区。1959年划归莒溪公社，设吴坑大队。其后，1972年改由公社良种场管辖；1984年设莒溪乡吴坑村委会；1993年撤乡设镇后归莒溪镇。[1]

村中留有两座寺庙，民居大多采用砖木或混凝土的结构。[2]
