地名由来[edit]

村子原为杨姓开基，名杨城。一说王姓约七百年前自武平迁来定居，杨姓迁走，村名遂改为王城。另一说南宋末年，帝昺与文天祥败退至此驻扎，清晨云雾中现出红日与霞光，蜃景如同皇都，于是改名皇城；后因方言中“皇”“王”读音相近，才演变为王城。[1]
