西街社区是莲峰镇下辖的社区，位于县府以西，属镇中心区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此处位于县府西侧，宋代置县时划归城里的迎恩坊，俗称西门，后设立西街社区。[1]

1949年前，此地在保甲制下属莲峰镇西大保；1949年初改设西街街，之后并入附城的超美公社，几经分合，1984年乡镇建制恢复后仍属莲峰镇。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本社区为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
