美溪村位于武平县下坝乡西南端，离乡政府约12公里。溪水之隔的另一边，便是广东省广福镇与平远县泗水镇。村名取“美”“溪”两字而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年土地改革时，此地定名为美溪乡，取“美”“溪”二字。[1]

公社化后的1958年，此地成为美溪大队；1984年，美溪村委会设立，隶属下坝乡，地名沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

村民的主要经济来源是种植仙草、小米椒、烤烟、水稻和柑橘，并兼营水产养殖，外出务工的人也较多。[2]

文化[edit]

2023年1月，美溪村被命名为2022年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」；2024年1月，又被命名为2023年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」。[1]
