袁下村是武东镇下辖的行政村，旧名袁畲，因地势较低而得名袁下。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

此地地势较低，因此称袁下，此前也叫袁畲。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地为袁下保，属六甲乡。[3]

1952年改设袁畲乡，归武东区；1955年划入上中区。1958年再归六甲乡；1959年随六甲公社合入武东公社，1960年转入十方公社，1961年设袁下大队，隶六甲公社。[3]

1984年起设袁畲村委会，属武东镇；1989年冬，袁下另设村委会。[3]
