袁上村是武东镇下辖的行政村，旧名袁畲，因位置偏高而得名袁上。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

此地旧名袁畲。分为上、下两处后，这一处位置偏高，便取名袁上。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地属袁上保，属六甲乡。[3]

1952年改设袁畲乡，归武东区；1955年划入上中区。1958年归六甲乡；1959年随六甲公社合入武东公社，1960年转入十方公社，1961年设袁上大队，隶六甲公社。[3]

1984年设袁畲村委会，隶武东乡；1989年冬又分出袁上村委会，归武东镇。[3]
