川坊村是武东镇下辖的行政村，早先称汤坊，后改称川坊。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

早先在此居住的是汤、朱两姓，地名叫作汤坊。因客家话里「汤」与「川」读音接近，便改称川坊。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代属归郡里。民国初属中正区，后设川济、川河两保，再并为川坊保，属中正乡。[3]

三坊乡于1952年成立，归武东区，1955年改属十方区。1965年并入武东公社，1982年改称川坊大队，1984年设川坊村委会，属武东镇。[3]
