背寨村位于东留镇西部，与江西省会昌县、寻乌县交界，俗称「东留的西大门」，是福建省确定的革命基点村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋淳祐年间此处曾设寨，明洪武年间中断，之后迁到现址，初名贝寨，后因「贝」字改作「背」字，遂称背寨。[1]
建国初此地属桂坑乡；1954年改设背寨乡，1958年转为背寨大队，1984年起才改称村委会，隶属东留镇。[1]
文化[edit]
2024年1月，背寨村被命名为「2023年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
