地名来历：村委会驻地在镇政府驻地东南8.50公里处，村名由此而来。[1]
公社化时期组建新兰大队，归桃溪公社；1984年设立新兰村委会，隶桃溪镇。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村内山林面积大，竹山占相当部分，耕地不多。村民以传统方式种植水稻；经济来源多靠外出务农，留村者以经营竹业和笋业为主。[1]
