新华村位于桃溪镇北部边缘，靠近长汀县、上杭县交界处，距镇政府约13.8公里，是镇内五个革命基点村之一。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子地形如火夹，初称“火夹域”。村中一座祠堂悬有“浩甲世第”横匾。[1]

民国时期此地称浩甲保，先后隶属湘湖区与小澜乡。公社化之后设新华大队，归桃溪公社；1984年改设新华村委会，名称延续至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域山林面积大，其中一部分山林划入省级生态林，另一部分位于梁野山国家级自然保护区内。竹林是村里的主导产业。[1]
