湘里村位于桃溪镇北部，离镇政府3公里，通往镇区的水泥路是省道205线的一段，交通便利。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
地名来历：元代称“小桑坑”，明代以后称“小湘坑”，村名由此演变而来。[1]
民国时期此地设湘里一保、二保，隶属桃溪区桃溪乡。建国后改称湘里乡，仍归桃溪区。公社化后组建湘里大队，划归桃溪公社。1984年设湘里村委会，改属桃溪镇。[1]
