湘坑村位于武平县北部的一处小盆地中，距武平县城53公里，距桃溪镇政府8.5公里，村内下辖两个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

地名来历：明末，何氏先人自东留一带迁入此地，初名“大湘坑”，后简称“湘坑”。[1]

民国时期此地设湘坑保，隶桃溪区桃溪乡。建国后改称湘坑乡，仍归桃溪区；公社化时组成湘坑大队，归桃溪公社。1984年改设湘坑村委会，改隶桃溪镇。[1]

文化[edit]

2023年12月，村庄被命名为「2023年度福建省森林村庄」。村子曾获县级「先进基层党组织」「文明村」等荣誉称号。[1]
