新贡村离桃溪镇政府约5公里，村中有新贡、燕理、贡头岭三个自然村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
地名来历：村子位于贡头岭下方，原名“贡下”。“文革”结束后改名“新贡”，有跟随时代之意。[1]
民国时期此地为湘贡保，隶属桃溪乡。公社化后，从邻近村庄析出一块，单独组建新贡大队，归桃溪公社。1984年改设村委会，名称延续至今。[1]

2023年2月，新贡村入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
