竹马村位于茶地镇北部，东面与翁基村相邻。镇政府介绍，全镇有两个革命基点村，竹马村是其中之一。[4]
得名[edit]
据传此地得名于一段故事：某人之子在朝中为官，夜里乘竹筒归家，天亮前又驾雾离去。其母察觉后剖开竹筒，里面竟是一对未睁眼的马驹，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
相传约四五百年前此地已有人居住。清代属胜运里；民国时属茶境乡。解放初属茶境区，1953年改属东一区；1956年组建竹马高级社，1958年公社化后称红旗公社竹马大队，1961年改隶庐丰工委茶地公社，1984年成立竹马村民委员会，2015年起隶茶地镇。[2]
村辖竹马1个自然村、3个村民小组。[2]

村内有屋场里水库，总库容12.3万立方米。[3]
经济[edit]
2025年7月，竹马村被认定为上杭县级“一村一品”专业村，以香菇为主导产业。[1]
