太平村是湖洋镇最小的行政村。村名取太平安居之意：清代有村民迁来此地居住，为了便于管山耕作，希望在此安居乐业。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，此地有人迁来居住，行政上归属在城里。民国时隶属濑溪保。[2][3]

1949年解放初设太平村农会分会，归信和区濑溪乡管辖；1956年组建太平高级社，1958年公社化后称湖洋公社太平大队。1968年设革领组，1981年起仍为太平大队，改用管委会名义。1984年改为湖洋乡太平村民委员会，2013年改属湖洋镇。[2][3]

村辖太平山、新山里两个自然村，共5个村民小组，村委会驻地在新山里自然村。[2][3]

村民小组5个，人口428人，党员21人；耕地425亩，山林约8000亩（统计年份未注明）。90年代起实施造福工程，约三分之二的人口从老村搬到城郊或附近较平坦的地方居住。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予太平村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

2023年1月，太平村获「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」称号；2024年1月，又获「2023年度」同名称号。[1]
