谷坑村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于镇境西北部，是镇内唯一的畲族村，村中蓝、钟两姓的畲族村民占45%。[1]
村名的来历：村民多是城中大地主的佃户，每年夏秋两季都要交租。有一年装足十八只船的租谷，开航时河水像裂开一条坑道，后人便称此地为谷坑。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
土地革命时期村子属旧县区苏谷坑乡苏，民国时为三益乡的谷坑保。解放后为梅溪乡谷坑村农会，1953年改属附城区。1956年设谷坑高级社，其后1958年全村并入公社。[3]
1958年起编为梅溪营的谷坑连，属旧县公社。1959年改大队，1961年归梅溪公社，1965年并入旧县公社，1966年改为红岩公社谷坑大队，1984年改为旧县乡谷坑村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇谷坑村民委员会。[3]
地理环境与经济[edit]
村子距紫金山金铜矿区5公里，距县城16公里。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村中的畲族村民多为蓝、钟两姓，村中另有黄、张两姓汉族村民。[1]
历史人文[edit]
最早迁到谷坑定居的人已有700余年历史。村中有古庙福仙宫，每年有庙会和船灯活动。[1]
村中上村有一口古圆井，据称有500多年历史，直径80厘米，深约2米，井水清澈甘甜。[1]
下村的几座山头为高岭土矿，据说明朝时曾在此开过青瓷厂，现仍有遗迹可见。[1]
