尧埔村是旧县镇下辖的行政村，位于镇北部旧县河西岸，205国道穿村而过。村子距县城21公里，距镇政府1.5公里。[1]

村名的来历：此地原地势平坦，称牛屎坪，因谐音改称尧埔坪，后简称尧埔。博雅地名网另记其俗名为牛市坪。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

土地革命时期村子属旧县区苏尧铁乡苏，民国时属三益乡的尧铁保。解放后村子属旧县区尧石乡，1953年设尧埔乡，1956年并入尧铁高级社。[4]

1958年公社化后属旧县公社尧铁营。1959年起称尧埔大队，1966年起归红岩公社，1980年后设大队管委会，1984年改为旧县乡尧埔村民委员会，2012年改称旧县镇尧埔村民委员会。[4]

历史人文[edit]

村中两姓人家，游姓与邱姓。据博雅地名网，邱姓开基始祖娶游姓女子为妻，此后两姓和睦相处，繁衍至今。[1]

尧埔村是龙岩撤地设市后首任市长游宪生的家乡。[1][3]

地理环境与经济[edit]

村中有水口公王景观，又有一株古樟树，树大根深，四季常青。[3]

村子人多地少，交通便利，村民大力发展运输业和养殖业。1997年，尧埔村被列为龙岩市新村规划的重点村。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2021年1月，尧埔村被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[2]
  • 尧埔村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[2]
  • 2023年1月，尧埔村被命名为「2022年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[2]
